What is rStream?

rStream is a waste robotics startup developing AI and robotics to revamp recycling and compost collection systems.

 

Where did rStream come from?

rStream was founded by two UMass Amherst undergraduates in 2020. The founders, Ethan Walko and Ian Goodine, developed their concept and found success in a number of UMass programs including winning the 2021 Innovation Challenge and Engineering Senior Design Showcase. They have since funded their startup through a number of sources including prestigious grants from the NSF and MassCEC.

 

What is AuditPRO?

The rStream AuditPRO is a patent-pending system which uses state-of-the-art AI technology to allow businesses to gather real-time data about their waste stream composition. 

 

How do I use it?

The same way you use other waste bins! Simply put your waste onto the black belt in the system, be sure to put objects for landfill on the left and single stream recyclables on the right. The system will come alive and take care of the rest!

 

What is this data used for?

rStream’s data is currently being used for benchmarking continuous improvement plans, especially in anticipation of rStream's on-site waste sorting system.
